August 4, 2017 The state government has submitted a preliminary objection to the Supreme Court of Tanzania against the request for a businessman's guarantee Yusuf Manji. The objection has been filed today by state lawyer Paul Kadushi in the presence of Deputy Registrar Sian Mustafa from Judge Isaiah Arufan who listens to the absence of applications.
In this case, the lawyer Kadushi claimed that the Court did not have the authority to listen to Manji's collateral requests. Also, the affidavit on legal guarantees is legally binding, despite the existence of improper provisions. After submitting that objection, Registrar Mustafa has postponed the case until August 7, 2014 for the hearing.
